The defining 2025-2026 NYC compliance event is the Sweet Truth Act (NYC Health Code Article 81.49, codified by LL 33/2022 plus LL 150/2023, NOT LL 121), live since October 4, 2025 with active enforcement starting April 4, 2026, requiring added-sugar warning icons on menu items above the threshold.
